EDWARDSVILLE - A motorist is being sued after she allegedly caused a rear-end collision on Bluff Road.

Mercedes Harrison and Tarreka Samuel filed a lawsuit on Feb. 8 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Emily Wimberly, alleging negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Harrison was operating a vehicle southbound on Bluff Road near its intersection with Collinsport Drive on Feb. 2, 2021, at approximately 12:17 p.m. Samuel was riding as a passenger. At the same time, Wimberly was traveling behind Harrison's vehicle when she allegedly caused a rear-end collision.

The plaintiffs claim the defendant failed to maintain control of her vehicle, failed to keep a careful lookout, failed to operate her vehicle in a careful and prudent manner, followed too closely and traveled too fast for roadway conditions.

The plaintiffs claim they were caused to suffer injuries, endured pain and suffering, incurred medical expenses, lost wages and suffered loss of a normal life.

The plaintiffs seek an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs. They are represented by William King Holland of Holland Injury Law LLC in Clayton, Mo.
