EDWARDSVILLE - A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign and causing a Collinsville collision.

Mary Johnson filed a lawsuit on Jan. 3 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Patricia Eichelmann, also known as Patricia Loemker.

According to the lawsuit, Johnson was operating her vehicle westbound on W. Clay Street at the intersection of N. Hesperia Street in Collinsville on Feb. 3, 2020. She claims the defendant was traveling southbound on N. Hesperia Street when she failed to yield the right of way and collided into Johnson's vehicle.

Johnson alleges Eichelmann failed to stop at the stop sign, failed to yield the right of way, failed to reduce speed, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to be attentive, failed to keep her vehicle under control, failed to use ordinary care and failed to obey traffic laws.

Johnson claims she was caused to suffer disability and disfigurement, pain and suffering, medical bills, loss of a normal life, mental and emotional anguish and loss of income.

Johnson seeks an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Kevin Boyne and Jason B. Going of Belleville.
