EDWARDSVILLE - A woman is suing a tractor-trailer company and the operator of one of their vehicles for allegedly causing a collision.
Christina Davis-Stellwag filed a lawsuit on Dec. 16 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Robert L. Reid and Dibble Trucking, Inc., alleging negligence.
According to the lawsuit, Davis-Stellwag was driving her vehicle westbound on Interstate 270, west of mile marker 6, in Chouteau Township on Dec. 19, 2019, when a Dibble Trucking, Inc. tractor-trailer operated by Reid allegedly collided with her vehicle.
Davis-Stellwag alleges Reid failed to stop or swerve his vehicle at the appearance of danger in order to avoid a collision, drove his vehicle without keeping sufficient control, drove at a speed greater than reasonable and proper, drove his vehicle without keeping an adequate lookout ahead and to the side, failed to equip his vehicle with adequate brakes and negligently failed to stop or yield the right of way.
Davis-Stellwag claims she was caused to suffer severe and permanent injuries and damages, loss of a normal life, present and future hindrances and prevention of attending to usual duties and affairs and pain and anguish in both mind and body.
Davis-Stellwag seeks a judgment in a sum in excess of $50,000, plus costs. Davi-Stellwag is represented by Timothy Hulla of Brown & Brown LLP in St. Louis.
