EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims a tractor trailer driver sideswiped his vehicle on Interstate 270, causing him to suffer injuries.

Jerry Lamont Young filed a complaint Nov. 12 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jim Douglas Matson and Lembeck Enterprises LLC, alleging negligence.

According to his complaint, Young was driving a Chevy Impala and traveling on Interstate 270 in Edwardsville on May 10. He alleges Matson was driving a tractor trailer owned by Lembeck Enterprises in the lane directly next to him and crossed over into the plaintiff's lane. Young claims Matson struck the driver's side of his Chevy and caused the vehicle to run off the roadway.

As a result of the collision, Young claims he suffered injuries and required medical treatment.

Young alleges Matson failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain control of his vehicle, failed to keep a safe driving distance, was driving at an unsafe speed and failed to obey proper lane usage.

Young seeks compensation of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Carolyn Caruthers of Sauter, Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
