EDWARDSVILLE — A man claims he was attacked and beaten by an intoxicated patron at a bar in Granite City.

Ethan Rost filed a complaint Oct. 14 in the Madison County Circuit Court against James Huskamp and Tegan's Pub House LLC alleging premises liability and other claims.

According to his complaint, Rost was at Tegan's Pub House on Nameoki Road in Granite City on Oct. 24, 2020. He alleges Huskamp was consuming alcoholic beverages at Tegan's Pub and became intoxicated. Huskamp allegedly initiated a fight without provocation and began to beat and strike Rost.

Rost alleges Tegan's Pub failed to have adequate security to protect patrons, failed to warn of the danger and negligently permitted Huskamp to purchase and consume alcohol and become intoxicated. Rost also claims Tegan's Pub failed to have proper staff to prevent injuries to patrons and failed to stop him from being injured by an intoxicated patron.

As a result, Rost allegeshe has suffered permanent injuries and incurred medical treatment expenses.
