EDWARDSVILLE — A woman claims she slipped and fell down a ramp covered with moss while leaving her Highland apartment.

Christine Weathers filed a complaint Sept. 20 in the Madison County Circuit Court against GSG Properties LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Weathers was a resident at the defendant's rental property on 9th Street in Highland on May 16. She claims that as she exited her apartment, she slipped and fell on a ramp surface that was covered with moss, causing her to fall down the ramp and suffer injuries to her back and neck.

Weathers claims that as a result of the fall, she incurred medical treatment expenses.

She alleges the defendant was negligent for failing to keep the property clean and free of moss, including on the ramp being used at her apartment. Weathers also alleges the defendants failed to warn about the dangerous condition and did not have adequate lighting in the area.

Weathers seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by John Hustava in Collinsville.
