BELLEVILLE — A motorist claims he was injured in a rear-end collision allegedly caused by the driver of a tractor trailer on Interstate 55.

Gary Harper filed a complaint July 23 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Schneider National Carriers Inc., alleging negligence.

According to his complaint, Harper was driving his Ford Expedition on Interstate 55 in East St. Louis on June 25 when he allegedly suffered injuries as the result of Schneider National Carrier's negligence. Specifically, Harper claims Schneider's driver, who was operating a Freightliner tractor, collided with the rear of his vehicle, which forced his Ford to collide into the median barrier. He alleges he suffered lacerations to his head, face, neck, back and suffered a concussion.  Harper alleges Schneider's driver failed to keep a proper lookout or keep the tractor under control. He also alleges the defendant failed to safely operate the truck to prevent the tractor trailer from colliding with his vehicle.

Harper seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other proper relief. He is represented by Justin Collins of The Collins Law Firm LLC in Town & Country, Mo.
