EDWARDSVILLE — Two passengers claim they suffered multiple injuries in a collision in Alton when a motorist entered an intersection in front of oncoming traffic.

Adrian Fields and Priscilla Stewart filed a complaint Aug. 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Carolyn Jordan, alleging negligence.

According to their complaint, the plaintiffs were passengers in Jordan's vehicle on Sept. 13, 2020. They were traveling on Moore Street in Alton towards the intersection with Washington Avenue. They claim Jordan entered the intersection "directly in front of oncoming traffic" and caused a collision.

Both plaintiffs claim they suffered injuries to their legs, knees, back and other parts of their bodies. They also claim they incurred medical treatment expenses.

Fields and Stewart allege Jordan was negligent for speeding, failing to yield the right of way and failing to keep a proper lookout. The plaintiffs allege Jordan also failed to reduce her vehicle's speed or maneuver to avoid the collision.

The plaintiffs seek compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. They are represented by Taylor Fehrenz of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
