EAST ST. LOUIS — A motorist claims he suffered multiple injuries in a rear end collision on Interstate 55 allegedly caused by a speeding truck driver.

Clinton Owens filed a complaint Aug. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against Singh Dalvir Arak and Lion Force Transport Inc., alleging negligence.

Owens alleges in his complaint that on Sept. 30, 2019, he suffered injuries in a collision on Interstate 55 due to the negligence of Dalvir, who was operating a vehicle on behalf of his employer Lion Force Transport. Specifically, Owens claims he was driving his vehicle northbound on Interstate 55 near St. Clair County when Dalvir collided with the back of his car, causing him to be "thrown about" and suffer injuries to this head, neck, shoulders and upper and lower spine.

Owens alleges Dalvir was speeding and failed to slow down, swerve or sound a warning to avoid the impending collision. Owens also claims he suffered disc protrusions, pain, paresthesia and lost wages as a result of the crash and incurred medical expenses.

Owens seeks compensation of more than $75,000, plus trial by jury and all other proper relief. He is represented by Lee Dalton of Hoffman & Gelfman Attorneys PC in St. Louis.
