EDWARDSVILLE — A passenger claims she was injured when a Walmart Transportation driver allegedly caused a crash on Edwardsville Road in Troy.

Ariel Walker filed a complaint July 12 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Robert Stogsdill and Walmart Transportation LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Walker was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling "in or near" a private lot entrance on Edwardsville Road in Troy on July 21, 2019. She alleges that Stogsdill was driving a tractor trailer truck owned and operated by Walmart Transportation. Stogsdill allegedly "moved into a lane of traffic when it was not safe to do so" and collided with the vehicle Walker was traveling in. As a result, Walker claims she suffered "severe and permanent" injuries.

Walker claims she incurred "extensive" medical costs and procedures and suffered lost wages.

She alleges Stogsdill was negligent for driving at a "speed that was greater than was reasonable" and failing to keep an adequate lookout for other drivers and traffic. Walker further claims Stogsdill failed to signal his intention to turn or yield the right of way.

Walker seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Jared Duke of Taxman, Pollock, Murray & Bekkerman LLC in Chicago.
