Third Judicial Circuit Chief Judge William Mudge announced that masks will not be required to enter the Madison and Bond County courthouses for individuals who have been fully vaccinated beginning Tuesday.
According to a press release, individuals who are not fully vaccinated must still wear a mask when entering the courthouses. Additionally, fully vaccinated individuals may still opt to wear a mask if they choose.
Social distancing restrictions also remain in effect for those who have not been fully vaccinated.
“The Illinois Supreme Court issued an order yesterday providing that individuals entering any courthouse must wear a mask or face covering unless they are fully vaccinated,” Mudge stated in a press release. “As we experience the gradual relaxation of COVID guidelines by the Illinois Supreme Court, CDC and public health officials, we are amending our courthouse restrictions to be in conformity with them.”
