Heplerbroom issued the following announcement on May 27.

Jennifer Martin, Michael Murphy, and Melissa Brown will be among the featured presenters at the June 23 Environmental Law Institute presented by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Murphy and Brown will explore mechanisms available to the State for enforcing environmental law, while Martin and Brown will provide a regulatory update for programs managed by the IEPA Bureau of Land. More information on this webcast, which qualifies for six Illinois CLE credits, is available here.

Martin, Murphy, and Brown focus their practices on environmental law and are based in the firm’s Springfield office. Martin, a partner, also represents clients in real estate transfers, including the purchase and sale of impacted properties. Prior to entering private practice, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Control Division of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. Murphy, also a partner, is an experienced litigator who defends clients in state-initiated enforcement actions and citizen lawsuits claiming injuries from environmental contamination. Brown, an associate attorney, is skilled in assisting clients with permitting, regulatory compliance, and litigation in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.

All three HeplerBroom attorneys have been named to lists of distinguished lawyers, including Law Bulletin Media’s Illinois Leading Lawyers (Martin), Law Bulletin Media’s Illinois Emerging Lawyers and Thomas Reuters’ Illinois Super Lawyers (Murphy), and Best Lawyers’ Ones to Watch (Brown).
