EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist who suffered injuries in a head-on collision on Illinois Route 3 is suing the driver who allegedly caused the crash and his employer.
April Dunn filed a complaint March 23 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dorian Pearson and A1 Med Car Services LLC, alleging negligence.
Dunn was driving her Nissan Rogue on Illinois Route 3 on June 28, 2019, according to her complaint. Dunn alleges that as she approached the road's intersection with Illinois Route 143, Pearson, who was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan within the scope of his employment with A1 Med Car, made an illegal left turn directly into the path of her vehicle. She claims Pearson "violently collided head-on and T-boned" her vehicle, which caused her to suffer injuries to her abdomen, back, neck, spine and head. Dunn also claims her injuries have caused her to incur medical treatment expenses and has "impaired her ability to work."
Dunn alleges the defendants were negligent in failing to yield the right of way and traveling at an "excessive speed." She also alleges Pearson was driving "in an overly aggressive manner" and failed to stop, slow down or swerve to avoid the collision.
Dunn seeks compensation of more than $50,000, and all other proper relief. She is represented by Amanda Murphy and Jason Guerra of Goldblatt + Singer in St. Louis.
