BELLEVILLE — A man is accused of throwing and flipping a table, causing another man to suffer serious injuries.
Don Gillam filed a complaint March 4 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Paul Colvin.
Gillam alleges that on Nov. 20, 2020, he was at a property on Front Street in East Carondelet. He claims Colvin "intentionally and without justification caused a table" to be flipped and thrown at him.
Gillam claims that Colvin's actions caused his body to hit a bar that was on the premises and to fall to the ground. He alleges he suffered "great bodily injuries" including injuries to his rotator cuff and tailbone and that he "did not consent" to Colvin's actions. Gillam also alleges that Colvin's actions were willful and intended to cause him harm and that he has also suffered loss of a normal life and has incurred medical expenses as a result of Colvin's actions.
Gillam seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Peter Maag of the Maag Law Firm LLC in Wood River.
