EDWARDSVILLE — A former logistics company employee claims he was fired in retaliation for filing a Workers' Compensation claim.

Robernelle Foster filed a complaint  Feb. 22 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Out of The Box Logistics LLC alleging retaliatory discharge.

According to his complaint, Foster was working for Out of The Box Logistics on Dec. 22, 2020, at its Collinsville facility and alleges he suffered an injury to his foot and ankle. Foster allegedly filed for Workers' Compensation benefits and began seeking medical treatment for his injuries. He claims he was then fired on Jan. 6 in retaliation for filling a Workers' Compensation claim, which the suit states is in violation of public policy and in violation of the Workers' Compensation Act.

Foster seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Mark Scoggins of Crowder & Scoggins LTD in Columbia.
