BELLEVILLE — A motorist claims she crashed into another driver who turned in front of her on Camp Jackson Road because a Cahokia Motors car display obstructed her view.
Anessia Brown filed a complaint Jan. 27 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Amaira Burner and Cahokia Motors Inc., alleging negligence.
Brown alleges in her complaint that she was traveling East bound on Camp Jackson Road in St. Clair County on Jan. 30, 2019. At the same time, Burner was allegedly pulling out of Cahokia Motors and turning to travel West bound on Camp Jackson Road. Burner allegedly failed to turn with caution and caused Brown to strike the side of the defendant's vehicle.
Brown claims she suffered a fractured nose, fibula and injuries to her knee as a result of the collision.
Brown alleges Burner is negligent for failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles and failing to yield the right of way.
Brown also claims she was not able to see Burner's vehicle pulling out of Cahokia Motors' parking lot due to the defendant's placement of a vehicle display that obstructed her view. She alleges Cahokia Motors was negligent for allowing Burner to leave the premises in a vehicle without proof of insurance.
Brown seeks compensation of more than $50,000 and all other just relief. She is represented by Kirk Caponi of Williams, Caponi & Associates PC in Belleville.
