The Appellate Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association are co-sponsoring a virtual forum for Illinois Supreme Court candidates Judy Cates and David Overstreet from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Moderators will be ALA president John Fitzgerald and ISBA president Dennis J. Orsey.
Anyone can watch the forum, but viewers must first register at www.applawyers.org in order to receive a Zoom registration link by email.
Cates, Democrat, and Overstreet, Republican, are both justices at the Fifth District Appellate Court.
Cates was elected to the appellate court in 2012.
Overstreet was elected to the appellate court in 2018, though had been seated at that court by assignment since 2017. Prior to serving at the appellate court he was Second Circuit judge, first elected in 2008.
