Lawsuits

BELLEVILLE — A K&E Technical employee alleges injuries after slipping on oil while on Prairie State Energy's premises.

Jaramie Poe filed a complaint Aug. 4 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Prairie State Energy Campus Management Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Poe was employed by K&E Technical and was working on Prairie State's premises on Jan. 14. Poe claims he slipped on oil that leaked out of the mining parts onto the pavement as they were loaded onto his truck.

He claims he has suffered "permanent pain" and "mental anguish" as a result of his injuries, which also caused "disability and disfigurement." Poe also claims he has spent "large sums of money" on hospital and medical bills and suffered lost wages due to his injuries.

Poe claims he will continue to suffer damages in the future.

Poe alleges Prairie State Energy negligently failed to drain the oil from the mining parts before loading them onto his truck.

Poe seeks monetary relief of more than $75,000 and all other just relief. He is represented by Thomas Keefe, III of Keefe, Keefe & Unsell PC in Belleville.
