“I tell you, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”
That’s what Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden said to Charlamagne tha God during a recent radio interview.
Seriously? If you’re black, you have to be a Democrat? You can’t be a black Republican? If you come to the realization that Democrats have pandered to you for decades, making lots of promises at election time but fulfilling none of them afterward, you can’t decide that you’ve had enough, leave the Democrat plantation, and switch your allegiance to a party that offers, and delivers, real opportunity?
If you’re black and you stop voting Democrat, you stop being black? You somehow, miraculously, become white?
The very idea is ridiculous. Democrats come in all colors, as do Republicans. Some Democrats are black, some white. Some Republicans are white, some black. Prior to the 1960s, many blacks were Republicans. Since then, most have voted Democrat, but that is changing, and fast.
More and more blacks are giving up on the Democrat party that has taken them for granted for so long and joining the growing Blexit (Black Exit) movement. The time is ripe now, but it wasn’t until recently, as Laninya Cason can attest.
Once a Democrat, Cason served as an associate judge in St. Clair County for 12 years and received favorable ratings from the local bar. But, when she broke with the party and ran as a Republican, her bar ratings plummeted and black leaders stopped supporting her.
“A lot of our black leaders have not been aggressively promoting a black agenda in our own communities,” Cason laments. “When deals are made, they are self-aggrandizing, not for the community as a whole. Our votes are very important to the power structure. It is a well-oiled machine, and those at the top of the machine pretty much come to black leaders and give them jobs, their families jobs, those sorts of personal benefits.”
Maybe it’s time for a mass exodus of black Democrats.
