EDWARDSVILLE — A Madison County man is suing a team of health care professionals, alleging he was not treated properly to protect his health.

Johnny Nicholson filed a complaint April 23 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Alton Memorial Hospital, Urology Consultants Ltd. and Dr. Matthew T. Johnson, alleging negligence.

The suit states Nicholson was diagnosed with left hydronephrosis on April 27, 2017, and Urology Consultants diagnosed him with an associated gross hematuria.

The plaintiff alleges he underwent treatment at Alton Memorial Hospital from April 2017 to August 2017 but was informed in September 2017 that his left kidney was dead after being diagnosed with ureteral cancer, leading to pain, sickness, hospitalization and medical expenses.

Nicholson seeks trial by jury and all just and equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys William E. Dailey Jr of The Dailey Law Firm LLC in St. Louis, and Wayne C. Harvey of Wayne Harvey & Associates LLC in St. Louis.
