BELLEVILLE — A patient is suing an eye doctor, alleging that he failed to properly position a lens in her eye.

Dorothy Sorrell filed a complaint March 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Michael Stock, alleging negligence.

The suit states Sorrell had cataract surgery performed by Stock on March 11, 2017. The plaintiff alleges the defendant did not properly position the interocular lens in her right eye, resulting in burning pain, loss of vision, light sensitivity and required further surgery to remedy the problem.

Sorrell seeks compensation in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Walter L. Floyd of The Floyd Law Firm in St. Louis.
