Customer alleges Wal-Mart employee negligently struck her with cart

EDWARDSVILLE — A customer claims she was injured at the Wood River Wal-Mart when a negligent employee struck her with a cart.

Shirley Wilkinson filed a complaint March 12 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc.., alleging negligence and failure to provide a safe environment.

The suit states Wilkinson was at the Wal-Mart located on Wesley Drive in Wood River on March 17, 2017. While on the defendant's premises, the plaintiff alleges an employee pushed a rocker cart of merchandise and struck her, causing injuries to her neck and back.

Wilkinson seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs of suit. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Samuel A. Mormino Jr of Alton.
