BELLEVILLE — A patient is suing Fairview Heights medical professionals, alleging he was injured during a surgical knee procedure.
Jesse Johnson filed a complaint Feb. 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Greg Simmons and Fairview Heights Medical Group S.C., alleging medical negligence.
According to the complaint, between Feb. 21-Dec. 20, 2017, Johnson received treatment from the defendants for a right knee partial digital patellar tendon transfer. Johnson claims he sustained damages such as an inappropriate fitting of his knee, careless operations that resulted in an infection, negligently performed revision surgery and negligent damage to the plaintiff's tendon and ligaments.
Johnson seeks damages exceeding $75,000, plus costs of court. He is represented by attorney Thomas Q. Keefe Jr. of Keefe, Keefe & Unsell PC in Belleville.
