Suit alleges patient died due to medical malpractice

EDWARDSVILLE —A patient allegedly died as a result of negligent medical care. 

is seeking damages, alleging that a loved one died due to negligence of a medical team.

Tonia Kopp, on behalf of Larry N. Kopp, deceased, filed a complaint on March 1 in the Madison County Circuit Court against OSF Healthcare System, doing business as St. Anthony's Health Center, Faqir Ahmad M.D. and The Schumacher Group of Illinois Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the decedent was seeking medical care by the defendants on Feb. 24, 2018. The suit states that the defendants provided negligent care, resulting in the plaintiff's death. 

The plaintiff is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs expended. The plaintiff is represented by Joseph A. Bartholomew.
