EDWARDSVILLE — A Granite City man is suing a seed company after his trailer overturned.

Damian G. Cowan filed a complaint March 4 in Madison County Circuit Court against Rovey Seed Co. Inc and an unknown employee, alleging negligence and failure to inspect the product for safety.

According to the complaint, on July 26, 2017, a Rovey Seed employee improperly loaded Cowan's tractor trailer with agricultural product in Farmersville. Cowan claims that when he began driving he noticed that the trailer seemed unstable. When the plaintiff pulled off the interstate and attempted to exit, the trailer overturned.

Cowan seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of the suit. He is represented by attorneys Keith Short and Jack Daugherty of Short and Daugherty PC in Alton.
