Man alleges injuries from trip, fall at Greenville gas station

BELLEVILLE — A customer claims he was injured when he tripped on a rug at a Greenville gas station. 

Ty Werner filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Clifton County Oil Company, CC Food Marts Inc and Kathy Hawkins, alleging negligence and failure to provide a safe venue.

According to the complaint, Werner alleges he was at the Food Marts located at 1601 S. State Road 127 in Greenville to buy gas on Aug. 26, 2018. While there, Werner claims he tripped and fell over a rug that was rolled up by the door at an entrance.

Werner alleges he sustained injuries to his right knee, right wrist and right side, plus medical expenses.

Werner seeks in excess of $50,000 in damages, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorneys Timothy Chartrand and  Michael P. Glisson of Williamson, Webster, Falb & Glisson in Alton.
