BELLEVILLE – Timothy McGary filed a lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court on Feb. 13 regarding the alleged lack of professional care he received at a Belleville hospital.

The petition names the Hospital Sisters Health System, doing business as St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, as defendant. McGary alleges that he developed a pressure sore while he was a patient in the hospital in February 2017 and that his treatment of the sore did not end until May 2018.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant's staff “failed to provide adequate care, treatment and interventions to prevent or treat pressure sores,” and that as a result, McGary will “continue to experience personal injury to his body as a whole, including, but not limited to infections," pain and suffering, and mental anguish, as well as continuing medical expense, the suit states.

McGary, who resides in Collinsville, seeks damages of more than $50,000.

McGary is represented by Charles W. Armbruster, Roy C. Dripps and Michael T. Blotevogel of Armbruster, Dripps, Winterscheidt & Blotevogel of Maryville.
