BELLEVILLE — A woman claims a driver hit her vehicle when he reversed in a McDonald's drive-thru.

Rhonda Jenkins filed a complaint on Feb. 12 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Adam M. Thomas, alleging he breached his duty to operate a vehicle in a careful and safe manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 30, 2017, she was operating her vehicle through the drive-thru at McDonald's at Westfield Plaza when suddenly and without warning the defendant abruptly reversed his vehicle and collided with her vehicle.

Jenkins claims she suffered injuries to her cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, left shoulder and the muscles, nerves and tissues. She also claims she incurred medical expenses of approximately $34,861.17.

The plaintiff alleges Thomas failed to keep a proper lookout and negligently drove his vehicle the wrong way in the drive-thru.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs and all further relief deemed proper and just. She is represented by Steven S. Fluhr of Fluhr & Moore LLC in St. Louis.
