Car accident 40

EDWARDSVILLE — A passenger claims he was injured in a rear-end collision on Interstate 55/70.

Ryan M. Woosley filed a complaint on Jan. 28 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Brian D. Choat and Choat Distributing Inc., alleging they breached their duty of care in maintaining and operating a motor vehicle so as not to cause it to crash in to the rear of plaintiff's vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 26, 2017, he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Michael Hopkins on Interstate 55/70 in Madison County when Choat caused a rear-end collision.

Woosley claims he suffered injuries resulting in medical bills, loss of income, pain and suffering.

The plaintiff alleges Choat negligently drove his vehicle at a speed faster than reasonable, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to observe traffic condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Jon E. Rosenstengel of Bonifield & Rosenstengel PC in Belleville.
