Motorist, passenger sue over Alton collision

Lawsuits
Car accident 12

EDWARDSVILLE — A driver and passenger are suing another motorist for allegedly causing an Alton collision.

Dartanya L. Scott and Tyrone Franklin filed a complaint on Jan. 15 in the Madison County Circuit Court against James T. Kroeger alleging he failed to keep his vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 5, Scott and Franklin were in a 2015 Chevy Suburban traveling in a private parking lot near 1837 Homer Adams Parkway in Alton when Kroeger's vehicle collided with theirs.

The plaintiffs allege they suffered injuries that required medical treatment.

The plaintiffs hold Kroeger responsible because he allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to operate his vehicle at a reasonable speed and failed to use every precaution to avoid the collision.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs. They are represented by Keith Short and Jack Daugherty of Short & Daugherty PC in Alton.
