BELLEVILLE — A man is suing his former employer for allegedly failing to provide insurance coverage and proper pay before terminating him.

Carl H. Chehowski filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against DAP Trucking, Inc. alleging it violated the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to timely pay earned vacation pay and failed to provide insurance even though it deducted medical and dental insurance premiums from his paychecks. He claims he was later terminated from his employment on Jan. 15, 2018.

Chehowski claims he has suffered lost of employment income and insurance entitlements and incurred expenses to pay his own medical treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Brian M. Wendler, Angie Zinzilieta and Paul E.H. Rademacher of Wendler Law PC in Edwardsville.
