EDWARDSVILLE — A Glen Carbon cyclist is suing a motorist for allegedly hitting him on Glen Carbon Road.

Scott Mueller filed a complaint Jan. 9 in Madison County Circuit Court against Nicholas M. Papajcik and Jeffrey Papajcik, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Mueller alleges that on Oct. 9, 2017, he was traveling on his Trek Emonda bicycle on the shoulder of Glen Carbon Road when he was struck by a Ford Mustang being driven by Nicholas Papajcik.

Mueller claims he suffered injuries to his ribs and neck.

The plaintiff alleges Nicholas Papajcik failed to keep proper lookout and failed to use every precaution to avoid a collision. He also alleges Jeffrey Papajcik negligently entrusted his vehicle to a careless and incompetent driver.

Mueller seeks trial by jury, judgment greater than $50,000, plus cots of suit. He is represented by attorneys Jack Daugherty and Keith Short of Short & Daugherty PC in Alton.
