Former employee accuses Jack in the Box of retaliatory discharge

EDWARDSVILLE — A Madison County woman is suing Jack in The Box, alleging she was wrongfully terminated from her employment for threatening to report violations. 

Cynthia L. Aubuschon filed a complaint Jan. 9 in Madison County Circuit Court against Jack in The Box, Illinois Jack LLC and Missouri Jack LLC, alleging violation of the Illinois Whistleblower Act.

According to the complaint, Aubuschon alleges she was terminated from her employment on Nov. 7 after she threatened to report alleged OSHA and wage violations. 

As a result, the plaintiff claims she suffered loss of employment income and benefits, humiliation, mental anguish and loss of dignity. 

Aubuschon seeks trial by jury, judgment exceeding $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorneys Brian M. Wendler, Angie M. Zinzilieta and Paul E.H. Rademacher of Wendler Law PC in Edwardsville.
