Suit alleges motorist caused Alton crash

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist and passengers claim they were injured in an Alton collision. 

Linda Kirm, et al filed a complaint on Jan. 8 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Lukas J. Markham alleging that the driver failed to maintain control of his motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 23, 2017, they were in a vehicle traveling on Landmarks Boulevard at or near its intersection with Broadway Connector in Alton when Markham's allegedly caused a collision. 

They claim they sustained injuries to various parts of their bodies and were caused to suffer medical expenses, pain and suffering and disability. 

The plaintiffs allege Markham failed to maintain a careful lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, plus costs. They are represented by Laura A. Cole of Smith, Mendenhall, Selby and Cole in Alton.
