Motorist sues over multi-vehicle collision

BELLEVILLE — A motorist is suing several other drivers for allegedly causing a multi-vehicle collision. 

Joella Clayton filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Spencer Crowder, et. al., alleging they failed to maintain proper control of their vehicles.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 16, 2016, she was operating a vehicle on I-255 near the westbound Illinois Route 15 when the defendants allegedly caused a multi-vehicle collision. 

Clayton claims she suffered injuries to her neck. left shoulder-elbow and low back. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain a safe distance and operated their vehicles at an excessive speed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs and all other relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by James E. Parrot of Law Office of James E. Parrot in St. Louis.
