EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a crash.

Joanie Missey filed a complaint Dec. 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against David H. Oestreich, alleging he failed to keep his vehicle under proper control.

According to the complaint, Missey was driving her 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer on Jan. 26, 2017, when she was allegedly injured in a crash at the intersection of state Route 4 and Ellis Road in Madison County.

Missey claims she suffered great pain and mental anguish, medical expenses and other damages.

The plaintiff alleges Oestreich failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain his vehicle in the proper lane and failed to reduce speed to avoid colliding with the plaintiff's vehicle.

Missey seeks trial by jury, judgment greater than $50,000 and costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Philip R. Rice of Rice Law Offices LTD in Belleville.
