EDWARDSVILLE — A former resident is suing a Collinsville assisted living facility after she allegedly fractured her hip during her stay.

Carril Ramsey filed a complaint Dec. 19 in Madison County Circuit Court against Cedarhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care, et al, alleging failure to exercise due care in providing assistance to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 29, 2016, Ramsey was admitted to the defendants' facility in Collinsville for assistance with daily living activities. During her stay, Ramsey allegedly suffered a fracture to her left hip that required surgery.

Ramsey claims she has had to endure great pain and discomfort.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate staff to monitor, attend and assist her during her residency and failed to provide necessary care and services to prevent her from falling.

Ramsey seeks trial by jury, judgment greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney John T. Cichom of Polansky & Cichon Chartered in Chicago.
