EDWARDSVILLE — A Dish Network employee is accused of causing an Alton collision.

John G. Coffey and Cherryl M. Coffey filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dish Network and Jeffrey D. Shell, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 20, 2017, they were in a vehicle near the intersection of Brown Street and Rock Springs Drive in Alton when Shell allegedly caused a collision while driving a vehicle owned by Dish Network.

They claim they suffered injuries to their necks, backs, shoulders and other parts of the body.

The plaintiffs allege Shell negligently operated the vehicle at an excessive speed and failed to be attentive on the road while driving. They also allege Dish Network negligently hired Shell.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus costs and expenses. They are represented by Justin C. Wilson and Andrea A. Stapley of Brown & Crouppen PC in St. Louis.
