BELLEVILLE — A St. Clair County man is suing a motorist for allegedly stopping abruptly and causing a collision.

Donald Reed filed a complaint Dec. 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Melissa Wright, alleging she failed to operate her vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, Reed alleges he suffered injuries to his back and neck when the defendant allegedly caused a collision on Dec. 7, 2016.

The plaintiff alleges Wright failed to keep proper lookout, failed to signal her intention to turn and suddenly stopped her vehicle on a highway without giving adequate and timely warning, thus causing the crash.

Reed seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus costs and all other fair and reasonable relief. He is represented by Patrick Hinrichs of The Bradley Law Firm in St. Louis.
