BELLEVILLE — A customer is suing Macy's after she allegedly slipped and fell on accumulated water and ice.

Claudine Boyd filed a complaint Dec. 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Macy's Corporate Services Inc. and Macy's Retail Holdings Inc., alleging they negligently allowed its premises to become and remain in a dangerous condition.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 16, 2016, Boyd was walking in the entrance of the Macy's store in Fairview Hieghts when she slipped and fell on ice and water that had accumulated on the floor.

The suit says Boyd sustained severe injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages and mental anguish.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to implement a safe procedure for removing ice and failed to give adequate warning of the unsafe condition.

Boyd seeks trial by jury, judgment greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorneys Lloyd M. Cueto and Michael Gras of Law Office of Lloyd M. Cueto PC in Belleville.
