EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist claims another driver caused a collision when she disobeyed a traffic control device.

Clay A. Williams filed a complaint on Dec. 4 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Wanda P. Scheldt, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 20, 2016, he was driving near the intersection of Possum Hill Road and IL-4 when Scheldt allegedly disobeyed a traffic control device and caused a collision.

Williams claims he sustained injuries to his neck and back and was obligated to pay sums of money for necessary medical care and treatment.

The plaintiff holds Scheldt responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield the right of way and failed to take evasive actions to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Craig J. Jensen of MeyerJensen PC in Alton.
