Car accident 27

BELLEVILLE— Passengers are suing two drivers for allegedly causing a crash on East N. 6th Street in East St. Louis.

Quiliac Halfacre and Cicero Maple filed a complaint on Nov. 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Michael Marchall and Kaleman Cain, alleging they failed to operate their vehicles in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Nov. 27, Halfacre and Maple were passengers in a vehicle driven by Cain. They were traveling northbound on East N. 6th Street in the East St. Louis when Marchall carelessly entered the intersection and struck their vehicle, the suit states.

The plaintiffs claim they sustained extensive injuries to their heads, bodies and limbs.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to reduce speed while entering an intersection.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $50,000, and all further relief that the court may deem proper and just. They are represented by Kirk A. Caponi of Williams Caponi & Associates in Belleville.
