BELLEVILLE — A consumer is suing Cardinal Buick GMC Inc. and Credit Acceptance Corp., alleging unfair and deceptive business practices.

Ashley D. Rick filed a complaint on Oct. 26, in the St. Clair County Circuit Court, against the defendants alleging that they violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act.

The plaintiff alleges that on April 25 she bought a used vehicle from defendant Cardinal Buick and was financed by defendant Credit Acceptance.

Plaintiff claims that the vehicle was defective, and that she stopped making monthly payments.

Plaintiff claims she has been damaged in the sum of $10,616.96.

The plaintiff holds Cardinal Buick GMC Inc. and Credit Acceptance Corp. responsible, because the defendants allegedly refused to repair or replace the transmission and the solenoid. The dealer repossessed the vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in the amount of $10,616.96, attorney's fees of $20,000 and punitive damages of $100,000, plus costs.

She is represented by David M. Duree of David M. Duree & Associates PC in O'Fallon.
