EDWARDSVILLE — An assisted living facility accuses a former employee of stealing trade secrets and confidential information.

Cedarhurst of Edwardsville Operators LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against Sara Hoelscher.

According to the complaint, Hoelscher resigned employment with the plaintiff to form her own competing business called A Guiding Light LLC. The plaintiff claims Hoelscher wrongfully solicited its clients and used proprietary information gained from her former employment to interfere with its business.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order requiring the defendant to refrain from performing services for any of plaintiff's clients. The plaintiff also seeks damages of more than $50,000. The plaintiff is represented by Molly R. Batsch and Katie L. Fechte of Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale PC in St. Louis.
