EDWARDSVILLE — A woman is suing a motorist for allegedly causing a rear-end collision.
Barbara Bratten filed a complaint on Nov. 7 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Gregory R. Jones, alleging he failed to keep his vehicle under control.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 6, 2017, she was involved in a collision near the intersection of Troy O'Fallon Road and East Kirsch Road when the defendant struck her vehicle from behind.
Bratten claims she sustained injuries and damages, including pain and suffering, medical bills and lost wages.
The plaintiff holds Jones responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to reduce speed, stop or swerve to avoid a collision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in a fair and reasonable amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by Kari S. Peterson of O'Leary, Shelton, Corrigan, Peterson, Dalton & Quillin LLC in St. Louis.
