Car accident 04

EDWARDSVILLE — Estate administrators are suing motorist David Sterling II after his vehicle allegedly hit another car, causing fatal injuries.

Annie Jones, Gloria Cotton and Deandre Lewis, executors of the estate of Markia Ivy, filed a complaint on Nov. 8, in Madison County Circuit Court, alleging Sterling drove his vehicle with a disregard for the safety of others.

The plaintiffs allege that on July 12, Markia Ivy was traveling west on New Poag Road near the intersection with Wanda Road when the defendant slammed his vehicle into her car. She had severe injuries that resulted in her death, according to the lawsuit.

The plaintiffs hold David Sterling II responsible, because the defendant allegedly failed to yield the right of way, maintain a careful lookout and or obey a traffic signal.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $50,000, costs and punitive damages.

They are represented by Brian M. Wendler, Angie Zinzilieta and Paul E.H. Rademacher of Wendler Law PC in Edwardsville.
