Car accident 25

BELLEVILLE — A motorist claims another driver moved into her lane when it was not safe to do so, causing a crash on Fullerton Road.

Tiavante K. Ruzicka filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Stephen M. Tassallo, alleging he breached his duty to exercise ordinary care to avoid a collision.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 15, she was involved in a collision when the defendant struck the passenger side of her vehicle on Fullerton Road just before its intersection with North Illinois Street.

Ruzicka claims she sustained injuries and has incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Tassallo responsible because the defendant allegedly moved into plaintiff's lane of traffic when it was not safe to do so, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to yield the right-of-way.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount exceeding $50,000, plus costs and all other relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by Christopher K. Geldmacher of Sauter Sullivan LLC in St. Louis.
