Car accident 27

EDWARDSVILLE — A man is suing a driver for allegedly causing a multi-car collision in Collinsville.

Lindell M. Hilling filed a complaint on Oct. 29 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Rhonda J. Parris, alleging she breached her duty to exercise ordinary care while operating her vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 15, he was stopped in traffic on West Beltline Road in Collinsville when the defendant collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by La Donne Schlueter, causing it to strike the rear of the plaintiff's vehicle.

Hilling claims he sustained injuries to his back, neck and bilateral shoulders.

The plaintiff holds Parris responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to operate her vehicle at a speed that was reasonable and proper and failed to use every precaution to avoid the collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $50,000, plus costs of this action. He is represented by Keith Short and Jack Daugherty of Short and Daugherty PC in Alton.
