Car accident 43

EDWARDSVILLE — A motorist is suing another driver for allegedly causing a collision in Nameoki Township.

Kristen Novacich-Koberna filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Nicholas A. Patrich, alleging he failed to decrease speed to avoid a collision.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 8, 2017, she was driving her vehicle traveling east on Arlington Drive in Nameoki Township when the defendant struck her vehicle.

She claims she sustained severe and disabling injuries to her neck, back and nerves.

The plaintiff holds Patrich responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout and failed to stop and swerve to avoid striking her vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of this action. She is represented by Matthew R. Chapman of Becker, Schroader & Chapman PC in Granite City.
