EDWARDSVILLE — A Missouri driver claims she was injured in a rear-end crash on Interstate 255.

Janet O'Halloran filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Sarah Wilkening, also known as Sarah Hartung, and Blake Hartung, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 9, 2016, she was traveling on Interstate 255 near milepost 25.6 approaching Horseshoe Lake Drive when the Wilkening struck the rear of her vehicle, causing her to hit the guardrail.

She claims she suffered injuries which resulted in loss of quality of life and economic benefits.

The plaintiff alleges Wilkening failed to keep proper lookout, failed to yield and failed to stop to avoid striking the plaintiff's vehicle. She also alleges Hartung failed to property investigate if Wilkening was a safe and competent driver.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus costs and all other relief that the court deems appropriate. She is represented by George H. Albers of Butler and Kemper in Granite City.
